YI-DAN CHA GI Martial Arts Center is dedicated its' many years to give the knowledge to children and parents of the many dangers posed by predators. It is sad, but true that in the world today, children need to gain this knowledge.
Nina Wood is an Agent for The National Security Alliance / Kid Safe Network and a 2nd Degree Black Belt. In her classes she discusses predator lures and uses scenerio's so the children gain awareness. This is done in a way were the children become involved in discussion but also in a way as not to frighten children.
Virtue games and discussions are part of the classroom. Children learn such virtues as:

Awareness

Bully issues
• 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be molested before
their 18th birthday.

committed by someone the victim knew.

contact occurs within a quarter mile of the

Self-Defense in the classes in instructed to be used as a last resort. The techniques are designed for the childs' size. Know that self-defense is not about strength, it is about technique.
Learning Self-Defense also helps a child gain confidence. Walking with confidence makes one less likely to become a victim for abuse and violence.
For Student of YI-DAN CHA GI Karate there is no additional fee for this class.
For children, ages: 5 thru 14
Fee: $40.00 per month
You do not have to be a Karate student to take these classes. Knowledge of Predator Lures, Awareness, Bully Issues, Internet safety, building confidence and sportmanship are all part of the Silver Star Self-Defense Classes.

GIRL SCOUTS
Girl Scout Troops in the last few years have taken a 3 hour course in awareness and self-defense. They are able to earn a self-defense patch in which a troop leader has found available through The Girl Scouts of America.
BOY SCOUTS
Scout leaders have told us that the boy scouts can only attend Ti-Kwon-Do seminars. Did you know that Ti-Kwon Do originated from Tang Soo Do Karate? Grandmaster Wood is a 6th Degrree Black Belt in this style.
Boys will have the oportunity to learn the basic's of this style plus awareness issues and basic self-defense
